2024 CAPES Academy Application

    APPLICATION INFORMATION
    • You must be an RN or APRN, from one of the eight states in the Southeast United States (Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee).
    • You must be a US citizen or resident
    • Submit a 300 to 500-word essay about why you would be a good fit for the CAPES Academy program. Please include the following information in your essay:
      •  A statement of purpose:
        • A description of your background, with any relevant experience
        • A description of your goal and what you hope to achieve from the CAPES Academy
      • A description of your perspective on clinical nursing education or clinical preceptorship
      • A description of the population with whom you plan to work upon the completion of the academy (RN students, APRN students, RN preceptees, APRN preceptees...), and what their needs are.
      • An insight on what you perceive as a barrier(s) to your completing the academy requirements (6-7 online training modules, one week in-person training in Atlanta, and monthly virtual meetings) and how you could overcome those barriers
    • Submit a professional reference from a colleague or supervisor familiar with your background, interests, and abilities to CapesAcademy@emory.edu 
    • Submit a letter from a supervisor or your organization's leadership, supporting your engagement in the week-long in-person training at Emory University November 6 - 10, 2024 to CapesAcademy@emory.edu
